Using a centuries-old American technique for making rugs, the Bucchero Bowl is hand-formed with cable that is woven on cast-iron machines from the 1940s, a finely skilled sculpting process done by expert sewers.
An oval, this small bowl is an homage to the mystifying black gloss ceramics of the Etruscans, a pre-Roman civilization known for their artisan traditions. The Bucchero Bowl is the smallest in the woven vessel collection, and is meant for everyday use-- on a desk, or to catch keys in the front hall-- but also makes an elegant statement on the mantel. Now available in four new colors, inspired by Grand Tour souvenirs: Porphyry, Travertino, Lapis, and Nero.
The Bucchero Bowl stands at about 6", and is nearly 13" at the widest part of the mouth. Shown in etruscan bucchero black cable, a blend of wool and synthetic yarns. Custom colors and collaborations are possible.
