Using a centuries-old American technique for making rugs, the Kylix Bowl is hand-formed with cable that is woven on cast-iron machines from the 1940s, a finely skilled sculpting process done by expert sewers.
The Kylix centerpiece bowl takes its shape from the communal wine drinking vessels found at ancient Greek symposium parties. Meant to sit in the center of a table, the Kylix should be used for the communal rituals of a household: it is a place to find fresh fruit, or to drop letters and trinkets collected throughout the day.
The Kylix stands at about 10". Part of the woven vessel collection. Shown in etruscan multi cable with a black figure cable foot, a mix of wool and synthetic yarns. Custom colors and collaborations are possible.
10" tall, 20" wide handle-to-handle, 16" diameter bowl.
